MY RANDOM NOTES:

Change, uncomfortable angles and energy, dis-harmony, intersecting at a less than ideal time, initiation, pain, fire inducing, decision making, penetrating, leveraging, tipped scales, non-symmetrical, attention demanding, growth, restriction, weakness seeking, igniter of internal flame, need to pivot or change perspective or angles.

MY THOUGHTS:

​

I do love this Rune (although Raido is still my favorite). I love this Rune because I have an "attraction" towards change... I could say that in my case I seek out or attract the energy behind this Rune; sometimes looking for an excuse to make another change. I will look until I find "Nauthiz". Of course all Runes have their polarized perspectives (opposite effects and everything in between) but I digress... for most this is not a popular Rune.

The Rune Nauthiz feels to me like Gebo out of balance. It presents an energy or awareness around friction or interruption of sorts. If you like change or know that you need it, or if you are feeling you lost your fire and everything seems 'flat', this could be represented by Nauthiz. Afterall, it is the "Need Fire" Rune, you might need to find or ignite your own inner fire or need the energy of Nauthiz to "help" (wanted or not) ignite it for you through pressure and dis-ease.

 

Amazing ideas, inventions, creations are birthed from need.... the more crucial the need is to survive, the more creative the human must become and often under timely restrictions. What comes from being under pressure? Something phenomenal or perhaps nothing at all....

 

Nature is adapting all the time, even our attempt to balance things in nature, will likely result in more unbalance. Nature allows new creations to become, while nature is also accommodating creations to end. Our human nature is always intervening. nature will always prevail as we fight to control what cannot be. 

​

Friction can feel good, or not, but it will not be ignored without consequence. Much depends on how one adjusts to change. Without conflict or need, apathy, contentment, stagnancy would eventually set in. When the internal "fire" no longer ignites, there is no advancement and certain death is destined to occur. This is one of my favorite Runes as it demands attention and will not be ignored. All of nature seeks "balance" and it will "take" without judgement or care. Balance does not mean "just". 

​

Embrace challenges. I believe that nature is always testing us not just as individuals but as a species... how do we respond to pressure? Diamonds are created under intense pressure... what is the human potential? What is yours? This sigil, signature of the deity Nauthiz, is a portal requiring you to rise to a new challenge, to make your own change through choice and to pass through to the next. If you don't choose to make new changes... then life, nature, will choose the change for you.
