Folk Grandmother Witch Doll~ Made by Kristie
 
I love dolls but seldom take the time to make them. This is the 4th witch doll I have offered. As with the others, this one is also especially unique as she has an amazing head and face carved from an apple and her eyes are black eyed peas. She is primarily created using fabrics tied into knots and braids bound around a firm stalk from my blackberries here in my yard (great for protection), the stalk is wrapped with a body of spanish moss. Her magical adornments are hand stitched on. Only a few delicate drops of glue were used in her creation. I hand felted her hair.
 
She adorns several magical items: rusty nail, key & bell, bottle of black salt, dried flowers from my yard, beaded draping belt and a locally found branch presenting a hag stone & bone skull, 
 
She hangs on a wall perfectly with an easy to find loop on the back side of her body. She is designed for a wall but can also be displayed confidently without hanging using a weighted tall slender weighted vase that I will include with her.
 
She measures about 18 inches. If desired, you can shorten her height by trimming her dress panels. 
 
I greatly enjoy bringing these dolls and their personalities and gift through to this realm. I made my very first doll with my mom, and she still provides input on those I continue to make. Although I created this "Folk Mother Witch Doll", I did not carve her face, a very dear special older woman that is no longer carving created this particular uniquely carved head of apple (I am still working on my apple carving techniques but have some drying that will be ready soon!)  -Kristie
